This is the same pup as my last post. This one shows the nasty laceration he has on his flipper

ouch! That is a nasty cut. Its a tough world out there. I wish for more of a head turn, but this is fine as is too.

Richard, you are in Oregon? Has anybody contacted the Oregon Marine Mammal Stranding Network, based at the Oregon State University Hatfield Marine Science Center in South Beach? (I got that in a Google search.) The injury might not be sufficient to require that the animal be brought in for rehab. But one of the pros should take a look, especially given its age and the possibility that it might have been prematurely weaned.

This was two weeks ago and I'm back in L.A. now. I did think of possibly contacting someone when I was there, but didn't know whom.

I like the way the animal is looking and the clarity in the entire image which shows the animal and wound so well.
