Cypripedium calceolus var flavum

This year we were very fortunate to finally find a solitary specimen of this rare lady slipper variant, where the sepals and petals are a string bright yellow, rather than the usual rich amber colour.

Composite image merged from 8K video file.

Nikon Z9 & Irix 150mm macro.

Thanks David, all credit goes to my wife for locating these rare beauties - I just tag along and take care of our Setter lass ;)

Thank you Axel - I would have preferred a somewhat less direct view...but the slope on which this orchid was...was so steep...that I was glad to secure this shot - without any serious mishap.
