Red Fingered Anglerfish Porophryne erythrodactylus
Back to underwater subjects, from a recent dive a Red- Fingered anglerfish, endemic to the NSW coast between Botany Bay and Jervis Bay. Masters of camouflage, they look just like sponges till you get up close to them. This one was hanging upside under an overhang on a boulder, it was relatively small, maybe 70mm long.
