I almost really like this - I would have liked more fine detail in the lovely simple composition you put together. Pefect choice of that wave in the wood grain to hold the flower.

Almost really like this LOL. Thanks Andrew :D I think i screwed this guy up with my workflow and more workflow and more workflow. I'll post the original later on in this thread 2maro which does show more detail. I just didnt like the color of the wood as its pretty old and weathered and dull.

Thanks again,
robert..................

Heres the original, both versions were cropped. I shot a few others straight on which show a sharper flower. Probably should of posted one of them

B&W definitely better and the comp is super. Agree the flower would be better sharper.

Nice balance and nice image. The B&W treatment works well here to focus on the wood texture. The flower could be a bit sharper. You could also probably increase the dynamic here with curves.

I like the B&W version, Robert. The original is almost monochrome anyway and the B&W areally adds punch to the textures of the wood. For some reason the flower looks softer in your original than the B&W, or perhaps it is just that I expect a bit more softness in the B&W so I don't find it as noticable. Count me as one who really likes what you have done here.
