This is my first post in this forum, as I usually do not photograph many things that would fit into this category. My family spent our summer vacation this year my wife's home state of Georgia, and specifically, Stone Mountain Park. I took advantage of staying right across the street from the evening laser and fireworks show, using the time to practice taking photos of this type of display for the first time. The first night I used my D1x, which introduced a lot of noise into the long exposures. On the second night I used the D2H, which has built in noise reduction, and I was amazed. This camera has noise issues with everyday images, so I expected little effect, but the images turned out cleaner than regular exposures.

Very nice Brett... agree with the lack of noise on your second try. It looks very nice.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.
