On my office bookshelf is a piece of iron ore that my grandfather mined, so when I think I'm working hard I remember what he did. From my office window, I've been watching a new building rise. For months the hoisting crane on top would peek higher from behind skyscrapers in front of the new building. Now I can see the top and the ironworkers amaze me. I'm viewing from the 28th floor and these guys are at least 500 feet above the ground. The guy at the bottom guiding the new beam has wires between him and the abyss; the ones up top don't.

Now that must be a very stressful job. Maybe we should allow them to spend a week at this forum for some R&R :? . I wonder if they use any ladders?
