I was not sure which category this image would fall into, so I put it here.     I went to another small creek today.  This one runs by where I live, and is very beautiful.    It's one creepy feature is that there are a lot of spiders here.

This is a large (3" diameter) fishing spider I came across this afternoon.   I was looking through the viewfinder and sometimes I almost jumped because the spider appeared so close.

24mm equivalent @ 1/160 @ f11

Thanks for looking!

The trunk and spider are an excellent foreground - the stream background is beautiful. Love the way the stream leads from the spider.

Very clever image here. I really like this, and it is a great example of how when you think outside the box you can get inspiring images such as this. Well done.

Now you're really trying to freak me out Kevin! That's quite close enough for me but I do love your perspective and the wide angle view.

Another excellent habitat shot. If I recall, you had posted a fishing spider photo last season as well.

I am thinking if a polarizer would have helped tame the highlights in the water and the foliage.

Hi Ram:   I think I did post a fishing spider, but it was a different species.     I totally agree about the polarizer.     Being around water every day, you would think that I wouldn't leave home without one.   In this case, I walked down a steep ravine with quite a bit of lens weight in camera bag, only to realize that I had forgotten a polarizing filter, which would have really helped.

Thank you so much for the comment!
