Close-up of a pickling variety cucumber surface carefully picked from my garden. Most cucumbers varieties with skin bumps have these protective spines but they are easily dislodged by handling and processing so are almost never present by the time they are sold or packaged. It is wise to be wearing gloves when picking!

This was taken near the stem end where the skin is the usual green but also has a  yellow must.

Unique shot, I like the diagonal composition and detail.

I like this very much - fine array of shapes from front to back.

Hi

I would never have guessed the subject - looks like those spines are filled with something. A well worked and interesting shot - I like it

All the best

A nice intriguing shot.
