This is more of a natural history post. Last week it snowed pretty heavily once again (seriously, this needs to stop). Anyways, the snow revealed something that I had not seen before, this form of caddis fly mating on the edge of a small stream.
The females of this species are often flightless, look like a large ant, and have no wings (right side). Thanks for looking! Canon 7D, 100 macro, 1/10, f/13 Kevin Feenstra
