Another otter photo from the weekend. I like the backlight here and how the eye has some light on it. I used a light amount (12%) of the Shadow/Highlight Adjustment to bring a little detail out on the dark side of the otter

What a great shot.

The light is wonderful and, as you say, the way it hits the eye.

But I love the ice on him.

A smidge off the top and right makes for a stronger comp IMO.

I would take some off top and right to place the subject more into the upper right quarter, but I love the pose and light. Very nice image Milo! 8) :D

Oh man, does that look cold! Great habitat shot Milo- obviously the ice is what really sets this image above most sea otter images. I like your work with the Shadows/Highlight- just the right amount IMO. :)

A vertical might be interesting to capture more of the shadow on the ice.

The ice sure makes this image dramatic, and I like what you've done with the sunny conditions here. Experimenting with different crops might be kind of interesting with this image. Love the pose this guy is giving you!

I like the dramatic lighting a lot Milo !!!!! Agree with Carol's crop suggestion !! The visible eye does it for me !!! 8) 8)

I think this is an excellent dramatic shot. I love the light and the ice.

Like Carol, I think the image would improve a bit with some slight cropping to move the head into one of the sweet spots.

Great shot.

Nice shot but I like the first one much better. I think the lighjting is more dramatic in that one. What a great experience this must have been. Thanks for sharing.
