Three of these guys seem to have taken up residence in my backyard. They are about driving my dog nuts. Canon 1d2, 600mm. All comments and suggestions for improvement greatly appreciated.

Love your yard !!!! Sure wish I had them critters !!! 8) 8)

Might want to try even a lower angle for effect!!! With the blades of grass high don't think you could lay down flat!!! The grass looks very intense (saturated) and some sweet light would really help!!!

You can shoot the all you want and they make wonderful subjects!!!! 8) 8) Hope you can do a series on these guys 8) 8)

Nice teeth and pose. I agree a lower angle would be nice. This looks a bit oversharpened.

Be careful what you wish for! They're a major pain in the posterior and can be very destructive! (I have them in my backyard as well but they're very skittish. Of course, there might be a reason for that! ;) )

Love the shot - and would guess it's a young guy based on the white teeth. Hopefully you'll get an opportunity with better light. Much as a don't like flash with mammals generally, if he's a regular, I would try fill as far off camera as possible and maybe at -2 to get a bit of a catchlight.

Nice shot Bob! Is this one of those 'Groundhogs' I keep hearing about? Great white teeth - makes a nice change from the yellowed smiles of the older critters!! 8) 8) 8) :D
