Dave---I like the climbing bear and the clear view of the sharp claws! Here's one crop based on the position of that claw in the center and the shape of the rocks. Adjusted the overexposure a bit in shadows/highlights and added a slight "s" curve for contrast. This looks good on the mac, not sure about a PC. Would like more definition in the light part of the snout. Is that light fur as in an old bear or was the bear
perhaps foraging in something light-colored?

Great shot and I think Juli's crop suggestion strengthens the composition.

I would have left a bit more room than Juli on the right side, although her crop looks very good. The pose is nice, especially with the claws. Its certainly tight enough with a 100-400. 8)

Thanks for the help, all! I like what you did with the image, Juli; the bears were eating grasses and were salivating due to the grass I guess, or due to traveling from grass patch to grass patch, or a combination of the two. I saw the most slobber on a big boar looking for females, and this bear that had hiked for quite a bit along rocky terrain to get to a grassy area to eat.

Tim, I'll play with the right side crop and see if I can get an impression of which would be better.

Very nice as it stands but my first thought was what would it look like as a vertical. I like Juli's presentation but like Tim would probably give just a bit more room on the right. The claw on the rock makes the shot for me.

I also like Julies crop but your the one who took the shot and much braver than I am. The claw does seem to be center attraction here.

Very nice. I'd crop a bit off the left, but leave the full bear there myself. Nice shot!
