This is the last image I took before I crashed and burned, breaking the lens totally off from the camera body and ending my day. I was backing away from this guy to get him totally in the frame when a log "jumped up" behind me and sent me flat on my back. The mount on the lens was broken and the entire mounting system on the body was destroyed. What a sinking feeling!
All is repaired now (CPS) and working fine.

Wild logs are so unpredictable Bob!  They have a nasty habit of attacking you when you least expect it.   :(

Good to hear you are ok and the camera has recovered.

Wonderful look and attitude with this handsome buck, he has a great presence and I can see why you just had to get the shot.  Beautiful detail all round and a really fine image.

Just a lovely portrait of this fellow. Bummer about the gear, I'll have to remember to be on the watch for those wiley logs.
