Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Photo and Digital Art Gallery, week ending 18th June, 2010!After some comments here and on my blog I decided for one more crop of the photo originally posted here.

It is tighter on all sides except the right one. What do you think?

And I promise that my next post will be something different ;)

Very nice indeed -- the sharply focused anther is a little more prominent here, which strengthens the composition IMO. Subjectively, the sharp anther appears to be flat, as if it's pressed against the lens. :)

I like this a lot, Tomas. The best yet, I think. I do wonder if the one outstanding anther could be softened on the edges just a bit without losing it's prominence. A minor detail. The mood of this photo is really lovely- energizing but relaxing at the same time. Hard to explain that....but it's how I feel. :)

Thank you, Gary and Cindy.
Gary: the focused anther seems to be flat simply because it IS flat :) The anthers are maybe 1mm thin and even thinner in the part where the "stem" of the anther continues through its "head".
Cindy: yes, the edges could be softened. There is high contrast on the edges thanks to the dark pollen grains.
