Looks pretty darn good at this size for ISO 3200. I imagine it was quite a sight.

Wow, that's a bunch of elk. I like your choice of crop- the repeating valleys in the BG are nice. It looks good at this size for the extreme ISO and SS that you used. 8)

It appears slightly red or magenta to me, but that may have been the real colors.

This was an amazing sight. We just finished shooting Prairie Dogs with a couple bulging elk about a mile away--you could just barely hear them or even see them with a 500mm. Anyway, the light was fading fast and hit to road to go home. Not over the very next rise Chas stopped and saw this just over the hill from where we were shooting. There were dozens and dozens coming in from the woods, bugling, doing everything. I couldn't tell if there were any fights going on. The light was soo dim. To me it only looked like shadows moving around. Shoot, Chas couldn't even tell if he was pointing at anything through the view-finder. We all fired off a couple of shots.

Weird colors begin to materialize--even my D2h had a magenta bias--when shooting really slow with very high ISO.

Overall, this was a very cool experience.

Cheers
