Another version of the location in my previous post - this time on film with the X-Pan. There was no chance of capturing the same level of detail in both shadows and highlights as the contrast range was just too high for Velvia to cope with (technically it would have been possible if I had shot, scanned and combined two differently exposed transparencies). Therefore I opted for a silhouette.

Hasselblad X-Pan, 45mm with centre spot filter, Velvia, 1/4 sec @ f22, G1548/B1

This image really makes me miss my X-pan. Too bad I went and got a 4x5... REally, a great image.

This kind of image makes me want a Xpan. Hmm just missed in a competition. Very, very nice! How do you scan the xpan images?

Great image Guy.

I prefer this to the earlier version - it imparts greater mood for me.
It also manages to retain greater sky detail either side of the tree trunk.

Guy, this is simply stunning. I love the sun peeking through the trees.

Both versions work well, nicely done.
