A couple buddies and I recently spent a week in Berner's Bay, 40 miles north of Juneau. I began to rediscover an old passion for B&W landscape photography. Here's one of the results:

Lion's Head Mountain from Point Bridget/Berner's Bay, Alaska
Image
Canon EOS 10D, 1/250s, f/11.0 at 34.0mm (17-35 f/2.8 L), iso100
RAW, C1LE, PSCS, NI
Cropped into a 2:1 pano

Looks too dark on my LCD screen at work but it's got a very nice tonal range on my CRT at home. Go figure.

Ya know I find myself wanting to see this as a fine black and white print on the wall and not on my monitor as I have a feeling it cannot possibly do it justice. Great image, tones, and b&w.

Wonderful rendition. The cloud makes a great mane for the lion.
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.
