I would guess this has been asked and answered but I couldn't find it.

With the latest Canon super telephoto lenses, like the 600 II, should you turn the IS off when above a certain shutter speed?

I leave it on regardless of shutter speed because if a cloud turns up ( im in the UK ) I may then have to quickly slow the shutter speed down apart from that when using my 600 II for bif it helps keep the image more stable in the VF .

No need to turn it off on Canon lenses other than the very first IS 1 lenses introduced in the late 1990's and some low end consumer lenses introduced before 2005.
