Last weekend at Point Reyes Natl. Seashore; about 30 min before sunset, facing just south of west on a cloudy day. Went to find birds, mostly, but when the birds were hiding, this hazy sunset landscape appeared, with a tree pleasantly ready to serve as an honorary focus. If anyone can tell me what kind of tree it is, I'd appreciate it.
Image
Canon EOS 20D with 70 - 200 f4/L lens at 180 mm; 1/160th at f11 (bias -0.33), ISO 200. Full frame. Handheld, alas; the tripod had a bird lens mounted. This was, more or less, the real color. Any comments or critique welcomed.

A great shot. Makes me think Ernest Braun, jr., took it.

Wonderful moody image!
Love the placing of the tree in the FG.

Superb comp. The dark bottom anchors the image well.
