The aurora streaks here are somewhat unusual. I've shot many and seen more, and this partiular "look" to the aurora is not typical. Don't know why...just know it's a bit unusual. Not the dramatic color or shapes that some of the other shots showed but I like it anyway.

Gorgeous shot, love it !!!!!!! The grass in the foreground adds to it.

Have visited North Pole, but have yet to see my first aurora!

The parallel bands are very cool. Some day I must see an aurora.
Looks a little tilted CCW.

Nicely done. Good choice of foreground.

Another great shot...keep them skies clear for next week I'll be up that way.

we too are getting the same layered bands and clouds of Aurora that then seem to break out into gentle waves and they are not as organized as normal...they come in from across the sky line not the usual formation of a solid wave. make for some intresting and different images...:)

It sure isn't looking good for this recent solar event. Tonight 9/10 should be seriously good in many areas, including the lower 48, but most of the state of AK is clouded over.
