Canon 5DIII, Rokinon 14mm, f2.8, 25 second exposure, ISO 1600, Tripod

Please view in shadowbox.

I recently spent a few nights in the North Maine Woods.  I went up there for wildlife and landscapes, but one of the nights was so clear I could not resist.

The skies were so dark, I wish I had brought my tracking mount!  I won't make that mistake again!

This is a single exposure, just spent a little time having fun out behind the cabin.

Who needs entertainment when you can have the woods, nature, wildlife - and the universe putting on a show like this!  A beauty Chris.

There is a Super Moon tonight - and we have thick cloud.  :(

Thanks Carol.  I could gladly leave all the technology behind and live simple in the woods.  Well, maybe I'd bring my camera... and a laptop... oh great, I'm on a slippery slope now.  Forget it, I'll just bring my kayak.

We had thick clouds too... :-(

Even though these types of images are pretty common nowadays, I am still thrilled to look at them and love them. Well done.

Gorgeous color and detail, great composition! The corners look very good, and on a full frame at that. Does the lens get a good rating from you?

For the price... you can't go wrong!

I really have not used it much.  Rarely am I in a situation where I want to go that wide.  Vignetting is pretty heavy on FF, but cleans up ok.  There is quite a bit of distortion in the corners and I did crop in just a tad so it looks a little better than it is.  But it's a nice lens, sharp, and f2.8!

Distortion would be my concern. Even my Canon 17mm TS-E II isn't perfect. Stars in the corners really test a lens design.
