Taking an image of Watchman from the bridge across the Virgin River is more than just capturing an iconic shot; it's a ritual that is performed every evening by dozens of photographers.

The first time I participated in that ritual was 27 years ago. Then I abstained from it for a long time, until last month when I took this one, my second shot at that time and location.

A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Nice shot -- I like the hazy golden light.

Really cool Jens. The cool and warm light really play off each other.

A stunning shot! I love the detail that's still retained in the shadows.

Looks a little too HDR and saturated for my taste but it's a great scene and a photo that could really be cool with a little more work in post :)

Hi Jens, I like the tight framing on this one. Everything is well balanced and the use of the tree in the sky on the right to fill in that negative space works really well. Even the triangular shaped rock on the bottom covered in snow and pointing towards the peak is a significant contribution to the composition. My main complain is just the processing ... the blues are way too cyan and saturated for my tastes, and the reds could probably come down a bit as well. Do that, and the image is will be very nice.
