It can get cold there this time of year and when the sun hits you, it feels really good - this picture conveys that well.

I've see some great shots from you here over the years, & this must've been an amazing place to be when you got the shot! Wow, never seen anything like this.

But, what's that OOF foreground doing in your framing, crop that out, maybe to the twig(?) about a third way up the left. Turn it into a kinda pano, it will rock.
You must have taken more than this, I'm looking forward to seeing. There is detail everywhere here.
Wish I was there.
Cheers
Marshall

Excellent image, Mike! Love the contrast between blue and gold, and the way that bits of the ice in the blue section are reflecting gold, and bits of ice in the gold section are reflecting blue. Really nice touch. My biggest wish is for more depth of field. Stopped down a bit more and the foreground might have been a bit sharper. However, the low depth of field also works in a way, so no harm there in the end. I like it!

Marshall - I think it is a frozen twig in the lower left corner. Good suggestion about the crop as well.

Thanks everybody for the comments, really helps!

Hi Mike, thought so. Just get a 90mm TSE and the DOF problems will disappear.
Still rocks with the colours (correkt speeling).
Cheers

Really nice colours (original, correct spelling) and composition.

Not sure how a 90 mm Nikon lens will fit on the 5D (but must admit that I've never actually tried it).

Hi Glenn, the 90mm TSE is a Canon lens, glad you can spell colour though.
