I was out looking for deer in velvet in a local park and met this guy on a foot bridge. I moved over, but he did not trust me and returned to the woods behind him. He lost the tip of his ear several years ago. His antlers have been close to the same size and shape the last 3 years.
This whitetail buck will be loosing his velvet in a week or two. I used auto painting in Corel Painter to block in the underpainting and then painted over most of it to add back detail. Larger sized samples of my work can be seen on Google Plus at https://plus.google.com/u/0/+JerryBarnettPhoto
