Politicians either could not or would not do it.  The SIKES ACT and people who administer it, could not do it.  Up to now, nothing and nobody has been effective enough to stem the slaughter of the African elephant.  Up until now, its extinction in the wild was inevitable.    

That is….up until now.  

Now, I believe that Yao Ming will do it.  He will do this!   He is putting in his time and going to the sites of heart-wrenching slaughters, posing with the horrible scenes, showing his people what is happening.  This is going to work.  It will take time, but it will work! 

If there is no demand for ivory, there is no market for ivory;  if there is no market for ivory……. there is no poaching.
