According to the WHO, air pollution killed about 7 million people in 2012. They say it is the world's biggest environmental risk. Read more here, and how India is coming out with a "National Air Quality Index":

On the other hand, at 7 billion souls and counting (and all wanting a "better life" - read; "more resources"), someone is bound to suggest that 7 million a year is a good start.

But that's only if one subscribes to the common notion that Earth's carrying capacity for humans is around 2.5 to 3 billion.

Personally I think that we will eventually limit ourselves like all the other life forms on Earth do; if they over-use the food resource for a few years, the population drops to regain a balance.  Which is what the "balance of nature" is all about.

We aren't willingly going that way, but it will happen to us too.

Here's what China did during President Obama's visit to reduce pollution and create blue skies:

You'll find it under "Cleaning the Air". Also note who is fighting regulations on air pollution in the U.S. The usual climate change deniers, of course!!!

Here are another two links:
In the first, note towards the bottom "The Jim Imhofe Guide to Climate Denial". It would be comical if it wasn't so sad and ridiculous!

I don't get into the political end of things, but all the ludicrous naysayers must be exposed.
