Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas.

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/1600 sec at f/7.1, ISO 500.

Green Jays only live in the southern portion of Texas and into Mexico.  They are rarely by themselves, generally moving around in groups of up to ten Jays.  Green Jays are one of the smarter birds.  They have learned to mimic the warning calls of other birds, along with other antics that make them interesting to watch.

Not a huge fan of the big stick as the perch, but the species and pose make up for the uninteresting perch. Well done.
Thanks for looking,
