Either a Coopers Hawk or Sharp-shinned - not particularly good with my IDs.
This one was sitting in a tree in my back yard, so I didn't have to go anywhere.  Wish for a cleaner looking surround, but still a cool looking bird.

Leigh, Cool shot. Agree about the background, but sometimes you have to take what is offered. Hopefully some one will chime in that knows which one it is. I also have a shot that I can't tell if it is a Sharp Shinned or a juvenile Coopers.

Paul is right, it's an adult Sharp-shinned Hawk. Some determining factors are the small head size, the small beak, the thin tarsus and toes, and the tail is square on a Sharpie as apposed to the rounded tail of the Coppers. This feature is best seen in flight.
Hard to get these little accipiters out in the open so well done getting this shot.
