Snipes have such wonderful feather patterns. You did well to capture it preening. The overall image looks at tad dark to me

The colors and composition make this a hauntingly beautiful shot! The snipe looks almost like he's made of wood or clay. For me the stripes on the left add to the impression though they are distracting.
