How big was this frog? It looks like the White's treefrog they sell in pet stores here that get quite large.

Hi Cheryl,

This one is about 3 inches long. It can reach 4 inches. Its scientific name is Litoria caerulea. I don't know the one you have in American pet stores.

Certainly is very green!! - although I may be excused for thinking this was a 'lawn Frog?'

I like the way you caught it in mid stride, with raised front foot - and love that bright eye! 8) :D

Trevor, I just looked it up in pet frog book and it is indeed the same frog sold here in pet stores. The book says it is one of about 100 species of Litoria and it is found in Eastern and Northern parts of Australia and in Southern New Guinea and is mainly nocturnal. Sounds like your backyard at night!!!! Thanks for sharing a species not previously posted on NSN.

The flash looks good with only one very small spot that looks hot. That big mouth just makes it looks as if it has a perpetual grin. :D

Thanks for posting something new and interesting. :)

Its a bit tight- mainly on the left side.
