Hippo Threat Display

I may have posted this photo but it was a long time ago before we were posting larger versions.  Recently I reprocessed it as it's one of my favorite mammal shots.  I selectively darkened the background in this version to try to put more emphasis on the hippo and cropped it a bit more tightly.  The background story on this shot is we were staying at Ngepi Camp on the Kavango River in Namibia.  We went out on a boat trip and the guide brought us to an island in the middle of the river.  There was a pool on the other side where a lone male hippo spent his time.  To show us he was the boss of the area he burst out of the water and threw a mouthful of water into the air.  Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I feel a curious juxtaposition between the warm soft lighting and the violent behavior. Maybe I just prefer my hippos in the gray tones.
