YOU CAN USE ORIGINAL HYPERDRIVE COLORSPACE WITH 1TB HHD

I learned with trying to use a 1 TB My Passport to back up files from a Hyperdrive UDMA2 that is it possible to update the original Hyperdrive Colorspace units to use a 1TB HHD.  I put the new version on a CF card and did it from there.

First you have to update the firmware version to V29 available in the support/QA section of the Sanho website.  Mine had V24 on them.  Then download the Fat32 formatter from Verbatim. You may have to unplug the unit from USB mode once or twice.   Worked like a charm! 

Some external harddrives, for instance, Samsung,  do not work but I was told that WD, Seagate, Toshiba and HGST, 2.5 Sata, 5400 RPM will work.  I happened to be able to pick up 2 Western Digital.
