This special bird photography workshop will put you right where you need to be to come home with breathtaking images of ducks, waders, and other waterfowl species at some of the best hot spots in the United States!

In a small group setting with no more than 5 photographers, E.J. will show you one-on-one the same techniques he uses in the field so that you can get the shot.

Itinerary

The locations in this itinerary for duck photography are only preliminary. The entire area will be thoroughly scouted by E.J. before the workshop to put you in the places where you will get the best photos and the maximum number of species possible.

Day 1

Participants should plan to arrive before 7:00 PM on the first day of the workshop. E.J. will give an evening presentation and discussion covering topics such as photographic lens technique, exposure, lighting, and composition, as well as introducing likely species we will photograph.

Day 2–4

Based on this year’s waterfowl activity, E.J will pick a morning shoot and an afternoon shoot location in order to maximize the group’s exposure to photographable waterfowl and other birds. Exact locations will be determined just prior to the workshop through E.J.’s scouting of the area. Expect to be at the chosen shooting locations by sunrise each morning and to shoot from afternoon to sunset each evening. Exact departure times and locations will be announced during the previous session prior to every shoot.

Testimonials
I most enjoyed seeing the birds and getting to practice shooting techniques. I took a few thousand shots (10 shots a second produces lots of images) and can see a day-to-day improvement in my images. I learned a lot, had a great time, and came home with some wonderful photos.
