I am a retired biologist who started out in marine biology but ended up spending most of my career inside, in the laboratory studying animal/human physiology. Now, retirement has given me the freedom to return to the world outside, to appreciate and communicate the ascetics of our natural world with the lens of my camera.
A 'photo enthusiast' I've always been, but my enthusiasm as an 'adult' was always tempered by the demands of the laboratory. Keeping up with the field of nature photography was possible mostly through the images produced by others. NatureScapes has been very important in that regard, and the contributions of many people, but especially, Michael Brown, were especially motivating. I thank the folks at NatureScapes for providing the opportunity to now display my own work.
I love close-up/macro images of nature, abstracts, water, reflections, patterns & textures, and landscapes of the natural world. I hope the images in this early stage of my first portfolio are appealing ... C. William Davis
