I had spent the whole day with the large herd of wild horses in Sand Wash Basin. But as the clouds rolled in that afternoon I kept my fingers crossed that the sunset would light up the sky in warm colors, that a horse would walk across the ridge and the light would be in the right direction. The pieces of the picture I was envisioning started to come together but the horse wasn't cooperating. This was the only photo I captured during that sunset of the horse's profile.
