Old makes way for new, but sometimes it takes the “new” awhile to arrive. In Peace River, the old hospital was torn down and a new one built elsewhere. A large pit remains on the lot where the hospital used to be. To one side, a small park-like area is covered in trees, shrubs and tall grass. A short flight of cracked steps, leading to a path under a canopy of branches, once took hospital visitors into the space. Judging from tracks in the snow, the main visitors now are deer and neighborhood dogs.
