2010 Images of the Year
Previous Coyote and Vole
© Rob Palmer

I was driving down Lamar Valley Road in Yellowstone National Park when I noticed this coyote hunting about fifty yards off the side of the road, jumping in the snow. I followed the coyote for maybe an hour as he came closer to the road. He dove into a snow bank and came out with this vole. He then dropped it on the snow covered road and played with it a bit before he ate the vole. This photograph was taken in January 2010.

Equipment Used: Canon 40D, Canon 300 f/2.8, 1/1000 sec, f8, ISO 400, beanbag from car window.
