Balsam Swamp - Foggy Fall Morning by Jerry Jelinek

This photograph was taken at the Balsam Swamp in the Canaan Valley of West Virginia in October 2008 and converted into this impressionistic scene via post processing. I used an old program called Ulead PhotoImpact Version 6 to create a "squiggle" effect. I've found that some of my meadow landscapes look really nice with this effect, so I tried it on this image shot back in the fall. I kind of like the result. It reminds me of the Hudson River School of painting.

The original photo was taken with an Olympus E-510 camera with Olympus 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 lens and Olympus 1.4 extender with an exposure of 6 seconds, f/32 at ISO 100.
