The Great Migration

These Gnus or Blue Wildebeests crossing the Mara River in their migration to the Serengeti plains were one of the highlights of my trip to Kenya. I saw five different crossings, most of them at midday, and only this one had this beautiful afternoon light below a sky full of dark storm clouds. I was waiting in a car for some time until the crossing began. Then the major problem with so much activity was finding a good framing in the chaos. I got several "buffer full" warnings in my camera. Canon EOS 1Ds MarkII, EF 500mm f/4.5L, 1/1300s @ f/5, ISO 250, taken from a car with a Beanbag, full frame.
