THIS IS A TREAT FOR US TO GET TO SEE A SPOTTED TOWHEE, WE GET THE EASTERN FROM TIME TO TIME BUT THIS IS A SPECIAL ONE, HE IS HANGING AROUND WITH THE CARDINALS FOR THE TIME BEING AND COMING TO THE FEEDERS AS-WELL BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT OUT THE EFFORT CALLED(TIME AND LOTS OF PATIENCE).

Certainly a rare species for Quebec. ( Saskatchewan is the Eastern limit for the Spotted Towhee, according to my atlas ). Perhaps the first record for your Province? Regardless, an excellent find, and looking forward to more images, Peter.

I love the way it is sitting on that curved vine, looking at some pods. Great find. perhaps a bit more contrast for this one? (Without blowing out the whites.... maybe a selective image of just the bird, if you do such things. I know how much you love that soft look in general....so ..whatever. A fine shot anyway.

Peter, I find it interesting how birds at times can be so far outside their range and am always curious why. Thanks for sharing.

Great find of this rare species, especially in wintertime.
