CANON R7
CANON 100-500RF @ 500mm
f7.1 @ 1/250
ISO 1250

Depending on the angle of sight from the viewer to the hummingbird's throat, determines whether you see the iridescent nature of those feathers, or not, regardless of how bright the light is, falling on the throat. Most of the time, the throat appears a dark raspberry-red colour, so it's somewhat challenging to take an image, showing the glowing condition, as most often, the red glow, is only visible for a second or less. A fast frame rate, and some luck, are required here!

It's really interesting how tricky it is to get a good iridescence with natural light, Paul. Great pose and angle, too.

Paul, Like the simple perch and comp. Viewed large the details really stand out. Background is outstanding.

You nabbed that color, Paul. Great capture. Hummers almost seem like your favorite little birds- almost like pets for you, maybe. :)
