WE DO GET MOST OF THE TIME THE  COMMON COMING FOR THE WINTER SEASON BUT FROM TIME TO TIME THE HOARY COME AND JOIN THE OTHERS, LIKE THIS ONE.

A fine image, Peter- you seem to have more species during the Winter out your way,in Quebec, than I see here in Ontario, but I know you spend considerable time and effort to find and photograph bird species, and the results are apparent.

Nice head turn and clearly one of the hoary-like version of the species. Did you know that Hoarys have now been de-classified, and thrown in with Commons? Not a separate entity anymore but I still think there is a distinctive difference. They were once defined as having shorter beaks. Don't know now....

Something looks a little odd to me on top on the beak on this one.
