Yesterday I overslept (very bad thing to do for a nature photographer!) but that led me to go to a different location near the city of Dachau which, in the end, was a good thing.
I had about 45m before the sun burst fully through the fog. Along the river Amper there are dams used by many people so birds are used to them. Here the river is wider and shallower and that leads to many pieces of wood being stuck there which are popular perches for herons and cormorants. I set the tripod slightly above eye-level to only have water as a background and no vegetation from the other side of the river. Vertical crop of horizontal image. Some light LR work with masks to slightly darken the background and a few other minor adjustments for a bit more texture, sharpness and saturation. Z8, 6.3/800PF, f6.3, ISO 320, 1/640s, wide-area AF with bird detection. Tripod with flex-shooter pro. Last edited by Markus Jais on Mon Nov 18, 2024 1:07 pm, edited 2 times in total. |
