I met a local shooting friend I haven't seen for a while.
I heard that he had over one million shots on the original shutter of his Canon 1DX camera.
I asked him today and he said he has 1.7 million plus shots by now.
I find it pretty impressive so I thought I would share it with you.

I had a 1DX, it was a great camera. But mine failed twice. The first time, just a few days after I got it (new camera from a local camera dealer). Canon replaced it. Then, after about 3 years, it failed again, but it was quickly repaired.
But it was probably just bad luck, I talked to many photographers who never had a failure and also shot hundreds of thousands of images.
I think all cameras should last that long or should be repairable, especially from an environmental point of view.

I sold all my Canon stuff a few years ago for personal reasons but now I am back into photography, but switched to 2 Z8 bodies and some Nikon glass.
Curious how long they are gonna last until something happens :-)

I have not used 1Dx but have used 1DxII and III a lot. I have also dropped them both on the floor. Both worked fine after the fall.
1DxII - I had my 500mm+1.4X on a tripod the top of the tripod broke and the whole thing came crashing down. I have not had any bad experience with either.
Both are exceptional cameras I must say may be better than R3

I still have 1DX that i used it a lot for sports, but i don't know how many clicks i made and i never care because i know it will last long and also i have another body as backup also, and all my Canon bodies aren't used like thousands of times to reach that much, but it is nice to know about that just as a reference, but for now i am looking for a replacement for my 1DX to be up to date if possible and there are several options in front of me but not the expensive one.
