The nest is at ten minutes drive from my house, along a very busy HW, close to Guelph Lake.
The two young ones are flying effortlessly, getting ready to be on their own.

Smashing shot Karl in great light. Not a biggy, but the top flight feathers just don't sit right to my eyes.

Thanks, Dave, You are right It was added to the top from the consecutive shot as the top wing was clipped. Maybe I will change the image with an other one.
Sorry.

Sorry.
No need to be sorry Karl.  You've entertained us with your fabulous images for so long,  a few feathers here and there are just not important,

Nice to see the youngsters ready to be on their own. Do they stay in the area,or get chased off by their parents, I wonder.

Thanks Cindy. The female lives the earliest, and the male stays about two more weeks to feed the young ones and teach them to fish.
Then at one point the juveniles no longer return to the nest , so we can't really tell if they left already or stay a little longer to hone their fishing skills.
I watched one nest for about eight years almost on a daily basis.

Karl, Like the fanned tail and the eye contact. Curious: you use the R5 w/ the 100-500 and the Z8 with the 400. Which one do you think is a sharper combination?

Great view of the underwing plumage and the juvenile looks ready to go on its first migration soon.
