American White Pelicans

My area is the northernmost point pelicans get here in BC as far as I know, and I only see them reliably on one lake in August and September. They are quite skittish, so I was surprised to have these three touch down close by.

Nikon Z 9 & Z 800mm @ f/6.3, 1/3200, ISO 450, handheld from the kayak.

Delightful sequence, Pete! There is something wonderfully joyful about these three- they look like they are having fun. (At least I think so....)

Great to have Pelicans around, Pete. I like the different poses, setting and angle. Sometimes it looks as if some birds are less skittish when approached on water.

Pete, Very nice. Almost looks like a composition of several images added together.
