Spectacular shot, the light and the wing pose are perfect.

How common is the white morph?
The similar (but smaller) Grey Heron her in Europe does not have a white morph.

Thanks, Markus! This is a first-year juvenile and they are all white at that stage. It takes about two years until they have the adult plumage. They are about a quarter smaller than Great Blue Herons. The Great Blues are a little taller, but look more similar to European Grey Herons. Reddish Egrets do have a white morph but they nest farther south.
