This bird makes a hole close to the bottom of the Trumpet wine flower and this is how he gets the nectar.

Nikon Z8

ISO 5000
1/3200 s (I was waiting for Hummingbirds hence the high speed.)
F 4.5

I'm sure somewhat of a surprise perhaps, to see an Oriole at the trumpet vine, and start feeding. Certainly very few images like yours, Karl, ever taken! Wonderful capture- a fine example of the unpredictable nature of bird photography.

Wow ... we don't have these birds in BC, but that is an awesome display of colour with the flower included. Great job!
