Red-necked Grebes

I'm not sure what the mother was doing here, but she seemed determined to give the chicks a swim by bucking them off. One is in the water on the right, and the other was hanging on for dear life. 

Nikon Z 9 & Z 800mm @ f/10, 1/1000, ISO 400, handheld from the kayak.

Great low angle and setting, Pete, the little passenger makes it special. The other one seems to try really hard to get its image taken, too. :)

Great looking low angle shooting. I visited the nesting site and found no chicks. They would be adults' size by now.
