Juvenile Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher (Tandysiptera sylvia). A but frumpier than it's father, he is shown in my previous posts. The tail streamers are just starting to grow. Small FF with HSS. They should be heading north soon to spend the dry season in PNG.

ISO12800, 500mm, f7.1, 1/640, on R5.

He has a way to go yet - but the promise of things to come is definitely there, with his stumpy tail and hint of colours, Greg. Very interesting to be able to see and compare the juvenile and adult of this species.
